History
Born in New Zealand, the company began as an import business under the direction of Maurice Paykel and Woolf Fisher. When the Kiwi government banned the import of manufactured products in 1938, the pair responded by building a factory and assembling their own appliances - thereby kick-starting their own manufacturing legacy.
It was always Fisher & Paykel’s focus on technological innovation that distinguished them from rivals: they were the first, for example, to commercialise fridges with plastic liners and insulation using polyurethane foam.
Now a part of the Haier Group, Fisher & Paykel continue to use a progressive, forward-thinking approach to plot their international success story.
